About

About Me
I'm a photographer, crafter, maker of things currently living in San Francisco, California. I was born and raised in a small town in Ohio, but quickly was itching to spread my wings. This wing-spreading lead me to Miami, Florida where I enjoyed a quiet and peaceful life.

My photography features landscape, nature and home and garden. I also quite enjoy snapping a few pics of the little people in my life.

Favorite Things
Since I've been labeled "crafty" I try to live up to that honor by making stuff. I especially enjoy alternative photo developing techniques and sewing stuff. I was a big scrapbook nerd but recently I haven't really been that inspired. Maybe I'll get my mojo back someday.

Schwinn Update

We discovered yesterday that 4 of the wheel spokes are broken :( Boo! So here’s the current state of my bike remodel. Something weird is also going on with my Giant. The chain is creating a bunch of slack after changing gears and the brake / shift cables have rusted from being in the salty air of Florida and California.

So hoping to be on the road again soon.

In the meantime, these brand new grips came in the mail on Saturday! I ordered them on ebay from this great guy - Bicycle Bones - he has lots of vintage parts if you are doing a Schwinn restoration (other bikes too I think).

Have a great week everyone :)

Maker Faire - Bay Area - 2011
We had an AMAZING day at Maker Faire. There were so many wonderful things to see and do. I pulled together some of my favorite pictures above - so inspiring! You can check out all the pictures we snapped here.
Top 5 things we encountered:
1. Russell the electronic giraffe - A giant, walking, talking, musical robotic giraffe
2. Arc Attack - As seen on America’s Got Talent
3. People dressed up in steam punk gear
4. A butcher’s lesson - our local butcher explained the art of meat carving
5. The Bazaar Bizarre - lots of wonder crafts and amazingly inspirational artisans

‘69 Schwinn Collegiate
Our journey has begun, my little bike and I. Chris started taking her apart tonight. Pretty rusty I’d say, right? Well, I have faith that we will get all the pieces back together.

My New Project

This is my new project. It has taken over my thoughts.

Chris recently purchased 1977 Schwinn Super Le Tour 12.2 and the day he brought it home to restore something inside of me felt so compelled to get a bike project of my own.

So after several garage sales and tons of searching on ebay and craigslist, a new little project was born. It’s going to be a lot of work! I’m wondering if any of you out there have ever taken on a project without knowing what you are doing? Any advice?

San Francisco streets here we come! Check out some of the best features of this classic bike.

I finished my apron today and I love it! It’s reversible and designed to be a combo of fashion and function. Hope the girls I made it for love it just as much.
